December 9 Advent and Elf

Advent Calendar : Buy a gift for a child in need.
Our conversation on this... " I am a kid in need" "No you're not" "What about William" "no he's not either" "then who" "we don't really know anyone that would be considered in need. It's for kids who's mommy and daddy don't have a lot of money to buy gifts" "oh ok"

We went to the store and I let him pick out a few gifts. Of course, he needed a little guidance. Much like any shopping he does, he wants everything "what about this". We ended up getting a barbie doll, leap frog magnet set, Candy Land and a nerf gun. Gifts for everyone in a family :)  Now the mission was to find someone to give these gifts to.  The local food pantry was taking gifts until the 7th, doh, I missed it by 2 days.  I heard that a local elementary school was taking gifts up for Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.  ok that's a thought then I noticed at gymnastics that they were taking toys up for the Nashville Rescue Mission.  There you have it.

The elves were feeling a little angelic today, watching us from above.

Hi Dylan and Natalie,

Angels are an important part of the Christmas story.  They make appearances throughout, starting with an angel visiting Mary and telling her that she would have a baby.  Later, an angel visited Joseph (Mary's soon to be husband) and told him that Mary was pregnant with God's baby and that they were to name him Emmanuel Jesus.  Then after Jesus was born an angel appeared to the shepherds and told them about our savior's birth.  Can you imagine, being in a dark field, all by yourself surrounded by sheep and poof, out of nowhere there's an angel.  I think they were scared but then were excited that they were the first to get the news of this amazing baby.

Love,
Batty and Peppermiz
