Disney Day 1 - The Journey

Over the next few days, I will be journaling our trip to Disney World for Dylan to look back on one day.  Like any trip, it all begins with the journey.  We knew it was going to be a long journey with 2 two year olds in tow, but it was going to be worth it, so our friends and our family began the long journey.  We had our car packed to the limit. There was barely any room for the passengers.  The boys seemed to be be comfortable.
We stopped for the night in Georgia around 1am.  The following day would be a short trip, so the late arrival time was worth it.  Once we made it to Orlando, we grabbed some lunch.  We didn't really have anything in mind, but we saw a restaurant with a playground so we choose that one.  The boys had been cooped up for so long we thought they'd enjoy the play time.
After about 12 hours in the car (both days combined of course) we made it to our resort.  I will say that I was super impressed by our accommodations.  We had 3 bedrooms/3 baths, a kitchen, living room and screened in balcony.

Lets Go!

I made the mistake of telling Dylan that we were going to Disneyworld a few months ago. At first, he didn't really understand. It wasn't a big deal.  Then as Disney movies started to come on and they showed Cindrella's castle, I would say look Disneyworld.  While he still didn't really have a clue what it was. He knew it was something magical.  Then it started..."Now?  Now?"  "Now what baby?"  Now, we go to Disneyworld? "No, not now."  This went on for 2 months I would say.  One day I picked him up from school and this line of questioning started. When I pulled into our garage, he lost it...."no, no disneyworld".  Just a short bit into this craziness, I realized that I should make a "Days til Disney" calendar and let him visually see how many more days until we left.  He may have not gotten the concept fully but the questions seem to simmer down a bit.  Everyday, he got to put a sticker on the calendar.  Then when it got close enough, we started counting down the blank days.  Today, He got to put on his last sticker.  Our plan is to drive half the way, spend the night and drive the rest of the way on Saturday.  We are really looking forward to our trip as we are going with some really good friends who have boys.  They are going to have a blast.

YGG

Last night, we took Dylan to see Yo G@bba G@bba Live.  It was awesome. You may remember that Dylan's 2nd birthday theme was YGG, so we were super stoked to find out that the live tour was coming to Nashville.  This meant that we could pull out the shirts that I made for his party and wear them again. That was awesome. (ok, so if you haven't seen YGG, they say everything is awesome. Thus all the awesomes so far.) They even handed out DJ Lance glasses. Here are my boys wearing theirs....

We decided to go to the 7pm show so that Daddy could tag along.  We got the first row of the tier level so Dylan could have a great view.  It was awesome....minus that when the balloons came down, our section didn't get any.  If your kids have watched this, then you know how wacky and crazy the show is.  It's like someone created the show while using drugs. If you saw Dylan, you would have thought he was on drugs. He was so zoned in, so focused, he barely broke a smile. He didn't want to get up and dance or anything....pure focus.
The gang (minus Plex)
The message that appeared at intermission. Ok so I texted it to appear :)
The musical guest was horrible. I expected so much more since we live in Nashville.  At every stop on the tour, there's a surprise musical guest. If you have ever seen the show, you know people like Elijah Wood and Jack Black have made guest appearances. Nashville's special guest, The Wor$ties. Their name was very fitting.  I was less than enthused.  Later Biz Markie came up on the big screen to do Biz's beat of the day, then he surprised everyone by coming out on stage.  The crowd went crazy. He was awesome.  He called kids to come down front to help him beat box.  You should have seen the line, it was not awesome. Thankfully, he didn't let everyone of them come up though. He was like Santa, sitting on the stage and the kids crawling in his lap....too cute.
"There's a Party in my Tummy"
I am so glad we got to take Dylan. I think this was the perfect warm up for what's to come....Disney

Pumpkin Patch

Damien and I decided to switch things up this year and go to a pumpkin patch that was a little closer than the one we have gone to the past two years.  I really wanted to try out a different one, but decided this would work for today.  When we pulled up, I was not impressed, but we were already there.  It was okay, but while on the hay ride, I sang, Lame-O, Lame-O, we gotta go. There was not one animal to see or pet.  The "pumpkin patch" wasn't really authentic. It was more of a corn and cotton farm than anything.  It did have a few cool things for Dylan, but that was about it.

Fall Day at the Zoo

Dylan and I went to the zoo, and the weather couldn't have been nicer. We haven't been to the zoo in so long because it's been so hot.  Even the animals were enjoying the weather, the elephants were closer than I have ever seen them.  They were so close, that we even heard one of them passing gas.

Elephant passing gas. I wonder if they have to lay down to do so??

The zoo had their ghoulish decorations out so we took a few photos at those as well.

I really wish that the weather could be like this year round. I would not complain, ever.

Make a Guess

We did this with Dylan and it was really fun to see everyone's guess of when Dylan would be born, how much he would weigh and how long he would be. I think this time it's going to be even more fun since we don't know if we are having a boy or girl. It makes things a little more complicated.  With Dylan, Angel K won and she came really close to everything, even guessing the day exactly, off by a few ounces and right on the length.  If anything, Angel has to defend her title :)

Stop on over and make your guess.  Click Here!!

Pregnancy week 24

How Far Along: 24 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 15 pounds (see story below)
Maternity Clothes: some pants and shorts, just because they are really comfy. I can still fit in my jeans with the help of a belly band
Best Moment this week: when Dylan was giving out kisses good night and asked to kiss the baby. we haven't even suggested it, ever.
Gender: We are not finding out...let's hope I can hold out
Movement: Felt some occasional small movements, but my placenta is anterior so it will be a while before I feel anything constant
Food Craving: nothing new lately but I can always eat certain junk foods
What I miss: being able to bend over and pick stuff up without grunting
Sleep: I wake up usually at 1:30 and 5:30 to go potty.
What I am looking forward to: finalizing Dylan's big boy room and getting him moved out of the nursery
Belly Button: it's pretty much out

At the doctor today, I weighed and when the doctor came in, she was kind of shocked at my weight gain. She asked if I had weighed on the same scales.  I told her yes and she said you are the second person with a jump in weight. I wonder if they are off.  She wanted me to weigh on another scale and it was 7 lbs less.  Originally, I had gained 8 lbs in 4 weeks, now it's was only 1 lb in 4 weeks.  She was relieved and told me I could eat this week. I told her I would have ate regardless.
