On Tuesday of this week, Dylan had his first experience at preschool. I won't call it his first day, as his first day was the following day. Tuesday was more of an orientation for parents and for the kids. We have been talking about school for the past few months and more so when school started and I could talk about all the people who were going to school, like the neighbor's kids. He was excited to go, but I think he would have liked the bounce house just as much. When I would say, where are you going tomorrow, he'd say bounce house....I would say, no school.
We snapped a few pictures at home before we left and of course, Dylan does great for his picture with Dad.
Then for me, he gives me the leftovers, so I am tempted not to show the pictures to anyone so again like I am never there. I am showing you Dylan. I am still posting them....hehe
Once at school, he went right into his classroom and after hanging out for a while waiting for our meeting to start, Damien and I said good bye and he could have cared less. I am so grateful that he doesn't have any separation anxiety, it makes it a lot easier on mommy.
At the end of the long, grueling, 2 hours, the school celebrated with lemonade and brownies.
The following day, Wednesday, was Dylan's first full day. He was excited about going back to school, thankfully. When I dropped him off, I called him over to give me kiss bye, and he ran over kissed me and started to run back...I was like, wait wait, come here. I gave him a little pep talk about talking to his teachers Mrs. Lindsay and Mrs. Ann if he needed anything especially to go potty and then asked for another kiss. Kiss and run again. Well, at least he was excited about being there.
A little later that day, I got a phone call from the director and immediately, I was like oh no. She said everything's okay, I just wanted to call and I was like oh, ok, you scared me. Then she went on to say that Dylan did have an accident and slipped off the stool when he was washing his hands and hit his nose and it bled for a short bit. I explained that it probably already had bled in it, as we had to have a talk about picking his nose that morning as it's been bleeding. Boys!
When I picked him, I got a good report. He actually ate some of his lunch and he was the first to fall asleep for nap time. He potty all day and only had one accident while in the bathroom...he didn't quite make it to the toilet in time.
I am excited to see what he learns and how he grows mentally and emotionally and even spiritually for that matter while attending preschool.
