She loves them

Happy Easter - He is Risen

Easter is one of my favorite holidays, although I think it gets a little cheated. I mean, where are the Easter songs, and why don't people go all out for decorating. Easter is the reason we even have hope and life.  Stepping down off my soap box. I do enjoy sharing the true meaning of Easter (not the original pagan one but why we as Christians celebrate it.)  I do love getting together for good food and desserts too :)

I put out the kids easter baskets.  Dylan has been begging for a Ken doll ever since Natalie got a barbie.  Every time we go to the store he looks for one in swimming trunks so he can play with it in the bath tub  like Natalie, so he finally got one.  A fruit ninja game accessory (which the night before, Damien asked if it was edible), pool toys and some gummies.  Natalie got a my first princess Rapunzel doll, cups and her favorite M&Ms.  We don't hype up the gifts at easter so I wondered if Dylan would remember and about how long it would take for him to see it. It was about 5 minutes.

Natalie was all smiles of course.
Until she had to take a group picture with someone other than herself.  Then I get half smiles or goofy looks.  Please explain what makes it so difficult to get a good picture of your kids and even yourself.

After church we headed to my Grandmother's for some lunch.  The easter egg hunt was cancelled, thanks crummy weather, but the kids still got a basket of candy, oh goodie.  (can you read the sarcasm, ha)

This picture of Dylan cracks me up.  He looks like an old man chewing on a cigar.

I can't wait until the kids get a little older and truly can understand Easter. Dylan said things like I don't want to die on a cross.  One day he will get it, I am sure.
