Here We Go Again

I made the mistake again. I told Natalie we were going to Disney world.  Of course, she has known this for a few weeks and now all I hear is "Mickey's House".  I should've learned from my first experience with Dylan that at age 2-3, you don't tell the kids that you are going.  As it is non-stop "mickey's house".  Whenever she gets upset and says bye bye. I ask where do you want to go, Natalie says "Mickey's house"  She's playing with her babies and her stroller, she says "bye bye Mickey's house."  She insists that once she gets there she's going to say hi to them (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Ariel), kiss them and hug them.  Time will only tell.  My bet is that you will be seeing a picture of Natalie crying and clinging to me here soon.

Dr Seuss Week

This week, Dylan's school celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday.  Monday was backwards day.  Tuesday was crazy hair day. Wednesday was Pajama day. Thursday was crazy sock day. Friday was dress like a book character day.

For crazy hair day, I saw a cute idea on pinterest for boys.  We colored Dylan's hair green.  I went through his bug collection and picked out several types and used glue dots to glue them to hair clips.  He told me that he had the coolest hair in his class.

For crazy sock day, yes, I saw yet another cute idea on pinterest.  We already had red socks from soccer.  I bought a blue feather boa from Hobby Lobby and some googly eyes.  I made the Thing 1 and Thing 2 from cardstock and wham.  Crazy Socks.
Book character day was a little scary.  At first Dylan said he could be Gerald from the Elephant and Piggie books. Perfect. We have an elephant costume and black glasses. Then he quickly changed his mind.  We went through several of his costumes we already owned to see if we could make any of them work.  (We had to have a book to take with him, so I just needed to find the book to go with the costume.) Dylan has been really into Peter Pan for the past 2 years.  Then he wanted to be Peter Pan. Ok, I can do this right?  I bought green felt, brown felt and a package of red feathers.  It was fairly easy. I just had to get creative, and of course, no sewing, just hot glue.  The main tunic was made by folding the rectangle in half and cutting a small "V" at the top for the head.  I cut the arms with jagged edges and the bottom at a "V" The tunic was tied with a felt belt with a felt sword tucked into it. The booties were just made to drape over his shoes. A little brown square with a hole "measured over the exisiting hole of his shoes. Once the felt laid over the shoes, I trimmed it and added a crease down the middle with hot glue for some character.  As for the hat, I am no help there. I had 3 versions and I'm not really sure how I squeaked it out in the end.
