For our labor day weekend, we made our way down to Arley, Alabama to Smith Lake. Damien's Uncle and Aunt built a house on the lake and moved in late November. We got to visit them at Thanksgiving and couldn't wait to get back and see them again once they were all settled in. Damien's Uncle, retired 3 years ago from the school system, this was his second retirement. His first retirement was from the Air Force where he was a Colonel. They are a well traveled couple and wanted to make roots in a very laid back community, and you couldn't get much more laid back than Arley. Not so sure if I could handle the lack of conveniences but the scenery might just be the trade off.

We had a great time on the lake. This whole pregnancy thing sucks all the fun out of everything though, I didn't get to tube or ski...boo! I guess the end result is worth it, wink wink. Even Dylan got to ride the tube ( I don't have a pic as I didn't have my camera on that impromptu trip)
Dylan really enjoyed the boat ride. He was so cute in his sunglasses and life jacket. I could have just ate him up.
We even saw a deer swimming across the lake....who knew?
