I don't really listen to much secular music, so when I actually do, sometimes I am shocked at the lyrics. I really don't like the impression that is being left with the youth. Some songs seem to promote promiscuity, drugs and under age drinking, not to mention violence and murder. I am amazed that the songs fly under the radar of most parents or maybe they just don't care. In college, I worked in an inner city day care, and if I wanted to know the lyrics to any rap song, I would just ask one of my 5 year old students. It seems that our culture is being desensitized to song lyrics...it's okay, I really like the beat of it. I am guilty of this one too, so I am not pointing the finger here, but when is enough enough? What are we saying to our kids if we are listening to Salt n Pepa's Shoop? (Yes I pulled a song from the 90's). One song talks about Ridin' Dirty...this is where a fun little poll comes in to see if we know what it's referring to. Post a comment and tell me what you think it means to ride dirty? No cheating....do not google it. I will do a follow up post in a few days and let you know. I asked Damien what he thought Ridin' Dirty meant and he said driving around with poopy pants....so naive. Go ahead and post.

I have no idea... but seeing how I was an S&P fan for a long time nothing would surprise me. It wasn't until late college years that I learned what some of their songs were about ( well, except for the one that spells it out "Let's Talk about Sex")
No clue...but I'm guessing ridin dirty has something to do with sex??? LOL
