Dylan's 1st Theater Experience

It all started with Christmas. My mom got Dylan a plate and bowl set of Woody and Buzz. I thought better than me telling him who Woody and Buzz are (sometimes I get caught up and call them Buddy and Wuzz) I thought he would like the movie. We borrowed Toy Story from a friend, and he loved it, so for Easter, he got in his basket Toy Story and Toy Story 2. Along with those, we got free movie passes to see Toy Story 3. Score! We knew we had to wait a while, but it would be worth the wait. In the mean time, Dylan got Woody and Buzz toys including figurines, stuffed figures, a phone and tattoos. Not to mention the 3 set of pajamas and 4 shirts that he owns. He loves Woody and Buzz, although I think he is partial to Buzz Leeter (as he calls him). When we take Woody and Buzz to the bath, he wants us to play with him and Damien or I always end up with Woody. Dylan can be heard throughout the day, regardless of what toy he is playing with, saying "to infinity and beyond". However, it sounds nothing like that, you can only pick up on the tone.
I don't know if we were crazy or just excited, but we went to see Toy Story 3 on opening weekend. He woke up from nap and he was in a good mood since we were going to the movies. During the previews, especially in the more dark not so upbeat previews, you could hear Dylan saying to Damien "back home Daddy". He wasn't so sure, but then the next movie would be colorful and friendly. Once the movie started he was in a trance. He couldn't get a hold of one popcorn kernel because he was in the zone, the buzz zone. He wasn't shoving it in like he was in the lobby as we waited to be let in.
At certain times during the movie, you would hear "back home" but I have to admit the movie was a little dark and scary at times. Overall, he did fabulous. He was such a trooper and he really loved the movie. I can't wait to take him to see more movies. The local theater does $1 movies and Chipmunks and the Chipmunks Squeakel are at the end of the summer. I think he will really enjoy those.

For how little he is, I think it's great that you only had a couple "back homes" ... That's a good attention span on such a little stinker!
