Worship at CCBC

This trip was unlike our last in that we got a full day of rest before heading to the village. Last year, we were thrown in the whirl wind. We went to our normal church service in Malawi, which is Capital City Baptist Church. Unfortunately, the pastor, who is their normal pastor is on his annual leave to the United States with his family and was actually speaking at our church the same day in Franklin, TN. I hated missing Pastor Joseph but knew he was enjoying his time in the states. The guest speaker was great and it was a fantastic service, even the songs were beautiful. I even got a little snack at church. They sell samosas which are like little meat pockets. That’s the best I can describe them. Think the outside of an eggroll, in the shape of a triangle filled with meat and spices...yum!

After service, we went to lunch at Four Seasons.

If you are like me, you are thinking wow a Four Seasons in Malawi. I was thinking why aren’t we staying there. It’s actually not the resort but a nursery. Within the nursery, it has several stores and overall has a great atmosphere. I enjoyed a chicken sandwich and a baked potato and it was yummy. (The food here isn’t bad, really! I thought the first time I came that I would loose weight but I think I actually gained weight...too many fries). They even had a band there playing "The Kumbali Band" who played familiar songs such as "Sweet Caroline".

After lunch, we hit up the grocery again and got some bread for sandwiches and some beverages. I got an appletizer and a grapetizer which I haven’t yet opened. Basically they are fruit juices mixed with sparkling water. After a casual day, we finished off the night with dinner, of course. I opted for the Kuka chicken.

Can’t wait to see the kids!!!
