Ready - Set - Kick

Dylan has officially started his first team sport, soccer!  We are so excited.  Practice has been hit or miss. The first practice, he did great.  Second practice, he was "tired" and sat on the sidelines most of the time. I told him there would be no playing with the neighbors the day of practice.  (not to mention our spring is like summer).

He had his first game last week, but I was on a women's retreat so I missed it.  and Dads, well they just don't take pictures.  Damien said he didn't want to play the first half of the game, but by the second half, he had warmed up and kicked 3 goals.  For his second game, second verse, same as the first.  Dylan sat out a lot, saying he was "tired" or "hot". Really, we think he's just nervous.  Again, once he got in and played, he was in the game.  He doesn't chase down the ball all the time, but he participates for the most part.  This game, I think he scored two goals. We are so proud of him giving it a go.  It's really hard for me to not say anything when he's sitting out or not running after the ball, being that I am so competitive, but I need to let him be him.  This may not be his thing, only time will tell.
