Why I hate Bl@ckbuster

Bl@ckbuster seems to be the go to spot when you want to rent a movie. However, that's not the case for me. About 4 years ago, we rented a movie from bl@ckbuster and took it over a friends house to watch. On the way home, we returned the movie. I know for a fact that the DVD was in the case, as I checked before we left their house. However, we somehow managed to get charged for the DVD as they said it wasn't in the case. Are you kidding me? I checked the case, and I checked the car to make sure it didn't somehow magically slip through the seemingly small crack in the case. NO DICE. UGH! Needless to say, we purchased Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Trust me, if I was going to keep a movie, it wouldn't be this one. After that I vowed not to rent a movie from this dishonest store, and I held out for a long time. I may have rented 1 or 2 movies in the past 4 years. Instead, I have been hitting up the $1 rental machine at Publix. Can I get a whoop whoop? What's not to love about renting a movie for $1. Well, a few weeks ago, Damien wanted a blu ray video to watch, so he didn't go to the $1 rental as they don't have blu ray. He rented Prince Caspian on a Saturday. It was a 5 day rental due back by Thursday.

Today, Damien came home from renting a movie (not a blu ray and not from the $1 machine...he needs more how to be frugal training) and asked when I returned the last movie as there was a late fee. I said, I returned it on my way to bible study on Wednesday. Then I proceeded to say, this is why I hate bl@ckbuster. He said, that's the problem, it wasn't bl@ckbuster. It was M@vie Gallery. Ok, so I take the blame on not getting that right. However, get this....it was due on the 26th, I returned it to blockbuster on the 25th. Blockbuster didn't return it to movie gallery until March 9th. Are you kidding me? It's not that far away and it takes you 12 days to return it. Can you help a sister out? Needless to say we rented a movie for $20 vs $1. I mean it's not like the m@vie gallery is 20 minutes away...it's like 4 minutes at most. It's like they were saying, well since you didn't rent from us, we'll get you my pretty and your little dog too. I vow never to rent from bl@ckbuster ever!!! Sorry Krista, I just can't stoop to this location's deceptive ways. Z's store is probably different.

I don't do movie stores. They are over-priced and I never seem to get good service. PLUS, once you have to shield your little boy's eyes from a disturbing DVD case, you realize they are not kid-friendly. I have one word for you, sister: NETFLIX! They have a distribution center in Nashville and we get our movies SUPER fast. I love 'em!

I second Netflix..LOVE IT!!! We get movies within a day of placing them on our list. Superfast...way cheaper and much easier!

Netflix all the way!!! We got so tired of all the fees (totally our fault because we can NEVER get things back on time) and started Netflix about 2 years ago & we're totally happy with them. Yes, they're fast & if you decide to "forget" to return a movie for, let's say, a month... they don't care!

omg we had the same problem with blockbuster - returned a movie for my sister to blockbuster, but it was supposed to go to movie-gallery...really my bad, but come on, blockbuster, walk the %&*$# movie across the street - how hard is that???? or at least call them and let them know that "blank" movie has been turned in to them, could you call your customer and have them come get it?? give me a break!!
