Atlanta Visit
We took a long weekend to go to Atlanta to visit family and check in with our new puppy. Yes our new puppy, we've gone mad. On the way there, Dylan was complaining that he couldn't see out of his eye, by the time we got there, it was full blown pink eye. We had to make a trip to the minute clinic. Here he is waiting for his meds, pretending to be an old person. "help me"
Dylan and Taylor enjoyed dancing with the Wii
We took a drive on Friday to visit the litter to pick which one we wanted. We were the last to pick for the girls, so if we take a girl, it will be the one that is not spoken for. There was one girl there we said we didn't want. She was really dark red and was more poodle like. We said we'd prefere the boy over her. Natalie had fun playing with the litter.
As did Dylan. This is Comet crawling up Dylan...he's in the running for the boys. Who knows?

Not Feeling Well
Natalie has been off the past few days. I decided I should just take her to the doctor to make sure it wasn't an ear infection or something before we headed out of town. She wasn't herself, she even fell asleep on the couch.

Jesus is my Best Friend
Lately, Dylan has been asking a lot of questions about God. Some very serious and then some just your typical preschool questions like "how big is God" "can God do xyz". I would say at least once a day, Dylan poses a question about God. God is so simple yet complex to explain to a 4 year old (and sometimes a 40 year old). Of course, there is the fallback christian talk "Jesus lives in your heart". When we first told that to Dylan he literally thought he lived there, so when we were telling him one day Turbo would die and go be with God, Dylan offered up to take in Sophie in his heart, but not Turbo because he was too big. Really, how do you explain that concept, so trying to take away the christian talk, we've tried to explain to Dylan what it means to love Jesus and be his best friend. I get a lot of ideas since I do Wee Connect (preschool praise and worship) at church, so I try to go on that.
The other day we were grocery shopping (at Krog#r) and Dylan says, I asked Jesus to live in my heart. I didn't want to dismiss it but I didn't want to have that talk in the bean aisle either. (I find it funny that he brought this up while shopping at Krog#r given that our church building was the former Krog#r). I replied to him, that's awesome, I'd love to talk about it with you when we get home. Later on, I asked him what he thought it meant to ask Jesus in his heart. His reply, "I don't know but I want to live with you and Daddy forever so I want to go to heaven too" Bless him. I don't technically think this was the moment that he really asked Jesus into his heart, but I see it as just as sweet and that we are on the right path. I think it's hard to say when a child is ready for that big moment, but I think we have a few years. I want Dylan to really understand the importance of that decision. My prayer is that he serves God one day in a mighty and bold way. That he lives for Him and allows God into every aspect of his life, as well as Natalie. I pray for Godly friends and I pray for friends that he can be salt and light for. I have already began to pray for his wife and Natalie's husband. It's never to early to pray for your children's future.

Natalie's Safari Party
I cannot believe my little spanky is 2! Time does really go by super fast. For her birthday, I did a safari theme because she loves animals (just like her brother). I am so thankful for pinterest. I couldn't do these parties without it. HA.
The welcome station were the kids could get a hand tattoo.
The party favor table : animal mask, animal crackers and more animal tattoos.
Craft table : Decorate an elephant and a monkey
The food: easy hot dogs in the crock pot
Lion Kibble (aka cheeze party mix) and Gorilla Grub
The cake or cupcakes in this case
Zebra Treats
The decor
The games ... ring the nose of the gator
Pin the banana on the monkey
The Birthday Girl
Later, we had my family over for a birthday dinner. Natalie enjoyed having everyone celebrate her birthday with her.
