Tigers Rock

The last game of the season for the Tigers.  To say it was rocky for Dylan in the beginning may be an understatement.  He was a little demanding but I think it just came down to him not having the self confidence in the sport just yet.  As the season progressed, his competitiveness really came out and he was a natural. He really began to enjoy soccer.  It may have been because some of his buds were on the team, like his friend Bentley....
Like most kids this age, it's hard to explain to a child to get the ball from the other team but not your own.  Often times, the tigers would battle internally who would get the ball.
Dylan scored lots of goals this season. This game, I saw him doing something he hadn't done at any other game.
and that was counting his goals.  Here is his, "I got three"
and again with the "I got four"
After the game, the coach handed out the boys trophies.  Dylan was so proud of his trophy, we had to take it to the grocery store with us and he told everyone about it.
I am so proud that he never gave up and that he ended the season loving soccer.  He already wants to play again. Next up....tee ball.

Happy 4th Birthday Dylan

This year Dylan wanted a snakes and spider party.  I convinced him to do bugs too.  Just your typical boy birthday party. The house was decorated with various critters.

The food even followed the theme. First up, snake ssssandwiches...complete with olives for eyes and a strawberry split tongue.
Then Caterpillar Kabobs
bug juice

Party Favors were insect collecting kits.
Which was perfect for our first game. I took buckets and filled it with dirt and insects. Using their kits, the kids dug through the buckets searching for a bug.  Once they found their bug, they used their bug tweezers and put it in their kit.
Dylan's proud of his bug

The next game, we used the butterfly nets and caught butterflies made from tissue paper and pipe cleaners.

What kind of birthday would it be without a cake? Dylan had a good ole dirt cake complete with yummy gummy worms.
the boys were intrigued by the cake (note to self smaller pot for cake next time)

Presents galore.  Next year we are going to have to revaluate this portion of the party...too many presents. He is one blessed boy.
Some of his friends that we could corral for a quick picture.
A few days later we had a birthday party with the family were Dylan collected more gifts. He's really into Ben 10 right now. He also got his first real sleeping bag and walkie talkies from Nana and PawPaw.
He picked out a monster cake for this party.
and his gift from us...a new bike.  It's a little bigger than his old one so he's a little scared but I know in time he will love it.

Happy Birthday Dylan.  I hope you remember your 4th birthday forever :)

Dylan turns 4

As a four year old, here are some of Dylan's favorite things.

  • He loves to watch Ben 10.
  • I don't know if Despicable Me is his favorite but that's what he said the day I asked him. The boy loves movies in general.
  • We love to listen to kids place live (Mindy even gave him a shout out on her birthday mission segment. He was so happy) His song that he likes is ah ahimsa but I think he likes some other songs.  He's really been enjoying Kung Fu fighting (with Baby CeeLo), Boom Da Boom and even songs like Mama tooted.
  • When I asked him his favorite singer, he had to whisper it to me.  I was expecting Casper Babypants (from kids place live) but he said Colton. I was like who...he said Colton from American Idol.  I love that he loves Colton.  Such a great young man for him to luck up to and a local guy at that.
  • His favorite food...sandwiches. I think it's more like pizza. Although he does like sandwiches.
  • His favorite candy, he said skittles, but much like movies, I think he'll eat just about anything. Our little guy who use to not like sweets has a serious sweet tooth now.
  • Activity...play and play he does.  He loves to play with his dinosaurs, bugs, batman and outside with his friends.

School Carnival

That time of the year again, the end of the school year, so that means a school carnival.

Natalie was happy about the carnival
 Cookie walk

Face Painting. He asked for a tiger even though it wasn't on the sheet.  She was happy to do it for him (his soccer team is the tigers)
 Having a blast

First Rock Wall Climb

Dylan's friend had his birthday at one of the local jump places. They also have a rock wall there you can climb.  Dylan gave it a shot and considering it was his first time, he did awesome.  He went up about a third of the way. Way to go Dylan.
