April Read

The book that I read for April was Tramp for the Lord. I love love love this book. I renewed it again to read through it and make notes but alas, that did not happen.  One day I will go through it again and take notes. What an inspiring story that she has.  I want to read all of her books.  She was on fire for God.  I love that she followed his lead without a doubt.  I give this book 5 stars. Love me some Corrie ten Boom.

Birthday Getaway

Damien took off work a few days during the week and since PawPaw and Nana took Dylan to Dinosaur World last year, he's been dying to go back.  We didn't tell him that we were taking him until that morning, so he was super excited.  However, he calls it Dinosaur Land...even when you say it's Dinosaur World. He says I know, I like to call it Dinosaur Land.  It's a big park with life size dinosaurs with little plaques that tell you about each one.  Well Dylan would run from one dinosaur to the next.  We would have to call him back and tell him what kind it was and start to read the plaque and he'd be off again.  He was non stop. We went through that thing so fast.

We made it back in time for the dinosaur fossil dig.  We sat and waited for someone to come open the gate for it but no one. I finally went to the building to ask someone and they were very apologetic and gave Dylan 2 dinosaurs.  In fairness to them, they had a big school field trip that just left and the park was empty for the most part, so they probably had no idea we were there.

on the playground

After Dinosaur World, we headed over to Kentucky Down Under.  We heard their tickets were 2 day passes.  We thought, we could do half that day and the rest the following day.  I heard reviews from friends that it was really cool.  I found some of the things really fun but some things were just kind of blah. I loved petting the kangaroos and feeding the birds (the first time we fed them they scared Dylan since they flocked to him, but the second time he didn't get scared).

and Natalie was a little scared too

He's really alive. I promise.

Mommy and her Joey - found out some interesting things about kangaroos and how they make different kinds of milk.

We did a snake show. Dylan loved the python that he saw. It's his favorite snake

I think one of  Dylan's favorite part was the cave.  He thought it was creepy but cool.  His exact words.
He also enjoyed feeding the smaller, less aggressive birds.

We did a barn show and they just had some baby sheeps born the week before. After the field trip left the show, we got to pick up a sheep and pet it. Natalie loved it.
 Checking out the big ones
Milking one - Dylan did not want to do it.

Family Fun Night

While we aren't enrolled in elementary school just yet, we still love to hit up their spring fling fundraisers. Friday night we had lots of fun playing games, riding ponies, and playing with friends.

Dylan was a little reluctant to get in the backseat of the police car, especially when we acted like we were going to shut the door.
 Fun tattoos
 Natalie and me having fun
Plinko fun. Dylan scored 10,000 so he got candy and a toy
Riding a pony. (horrible picture it was really dark)
and right before we left, he decided to get his hair sprayed red with sparkles...sorry no after picture as he got a bath when we got home really late.
Fun times!

Date Night with my Little Man

Our good friend, Dennis Kiser, is running for state representative for our district.  One of the cities within the district is my hometown, Fairview.  Dennis and his wife Cindy went out to the carnival for a little campaigning so I decided to tag along and take my little man on a date night.  We did a little campaigning and had a lot of fun.

I am not a huge fan of carnival rides as they are just thrown up, but the little kids rides are harmless right? Well we did a roller coaster. I got jostled around so much that my back was sore for a few days...yep, I am old.
Dylan's favorite things were between this, it was an obstacle course play house of sorts, and the clown house. (one of those silly houses).  He ran in and out of them all night.

We stopped for a late night dinner at sonic.  What's up?
and Dylan wanted to snap a pic of me (not to shabby, maybe he needs to take more pictures of me)

It was a silly, fun time indeed.

If you want to learn more about Dennis Kiser. Visit his website.  http://www.votekiser2012.com/  and he asks that you send him a picture of Andrew Jackson ($20) to help with his campaign.

Wordless Wednesday

Zoo Fun

Nothing like hitting up the zoo on a pretty day with close friends.  Not to mention the dinosaur exhibit is going on, so Dylan has been on pins and needles to go.

All you need is a bow tie

The other day, I was talking to Dylan and I was asking him if he had a girlfriend at school. (His friend Joseph has 2 of them.) He insisted he didn't and implied that he didn't have time for them.  However, he did say that he was going to marry Eliza, our neighbor.  He said that all he needed was a bow tie, but that he didn't have one and doesn't know where to get one. I asked him if he was going to get her a ring. He didn't seem to think that was important. Oh and he needs a shirt, a black one...yes a black bow tie and a black shirt. Oh, and Eliza is going to need a white dress.  There, he finally considered what she might need.  Whew. Thought he had already planned the whole thing and planned her right out of it.  Where does he get this stuff?

Easter

Dylan didn't really think about an easter basket.  I guess because we didn't talk it up, so it was a good way to wake him up for church..."Dylan you have a basket downstairs with presents". He woke up in a good mood. We don't go all out but here are a few things.  (Thanks to MeMaw Sue for sending some easter presents). Dylan watched the veggie tales videos today in the car and we had to read all of the books.

After church, we headed to my Grandmother's for lunch. I am so glad Natalie felt better.  I took her to the doctor yesterday and she had a double ear infection.  Her eyes still don't look the same.
 With the cousins
After lunch, the traditional easter egg hunt commenced.  Next year, I expect Natalie will be running around like a crazy, but this year we just kinda chilled.
Dylan was in full search mode.

and a trip to Grandmother's is not complete until he tickles the ivories.
