Rapunzel, Rapunzel
Ok, maybe it's not Rapunzel but Dylan's sweet girlfriend E. We were outside playing and she came to the window as she was waiting for everyone to get ready before heading out doors. Dylan and E were jabbering to each other through the window and it was the cutest thing. Any time we see them, Dylan and E just hug each other and it's so cute. The other day, I cleaned out my closet and found a crown and veil that I wore out for my bachelorette party. I thought Eliza might enjoy playing dress up with it so we took it over to her house and I asked Dylan to give it to her and told him to say "marry me". Of course, he didn't. He ran in to go play. I just think them lovin' on each other is the sweetest thing. However when they get a little older (E is almost 4), I am sure E's daddy what think it's that sweet :)

Could it be Spring?
Earlier this week, we were treated with a nice, sunny day. Thank you God. I couldn't wait to get Dylan outside to play and play he did, all day. We enjoyed playing with the toys, but boys will be boys....he really enjoyed playing out by the creek with the neighbors kids. Their sweet little daughter (aka Dylan's girlfriend) is subjected to play with the boys, but she didn't seem to mind. The creek is like a magnet for the kids. All the kids who back up to the creek seemed to be out there at some point that day. Dylan enjoys throwing rocks in it and slapping it with a stick.

Monkeys Tree House
Since I have a little monkey on my hand, what better place to take him than the monkey tree house. While visiting my mom last week, I decided to take Dylan to the monkey tree house to exert some energy. We were there almost 3 hours and he left willingly on his own, so you know he was tired.
They had so much to do there, and I was quite impressed. The price was a little steep for a toddler I thought, but overall, it was a nice day out of the house to beat the winter blues. There was the actual treehouse, fishing pond, kitchen/store play area, car ramps, train set, a rubber mulch sand like pit, dress up area and a toddler soft foam area.

Water Colors
The past few weeks, I have been working on a few paintings for my friends that have recently had babies, and while I was shopping for some canvases, I found a water color kit for 99 cents. I thought Dylan might like this. One day while I was painting, I let him give it a go. He seemed to enjoy it, but he's not quite sure how it works. I tried showing him to dip the brush in the water, then pick a color then paint, but seemingly, he kept wanting to dip it in the water again before painting. Oh well, he still had fun and I got to paint.

He hearts them
For Christmas, my mom bought Dylan a gift that I even considered taking it back and getting something else as I thought that he had something very similar to it. However, I was wrong. Out of all the gifts, it ended up being his favorite. When I say his favorite, I mean these things very rarely leave his hands. They even made it to Hawaii with us.

The gift, it was the Apple Grove Pals Farm Playset by Little Tikes. The set that he got for Christmas was the Farm Play set which included 3 characters: a cow, a pig and a zebra. With each set, a storybook is included. The characters, playsets and storybooks teach friendship, curiosity, courage and other important life lessons. Each character comes with a removable hat which any character can wear, but Dylan doesn't like to mix things up. He's a little OCD like that. After we saw how much Dylan enjoy the characters, my mom and I begin searching for more of them. She is an avid shopper and came across 3 more sets of the characters and 1 set. Dylan's stash is now up to 14 characters, the farm set and the train set.
We play a game with the characters and the hats and match them up. He knows which hat belongs to which character. Along with his original ones, my mom has bought him every single set she has come across, so his numbers are up to 14 characters, the farm set and the train station. He loves these things like none other. He sleeps with them, eats with them and takes them everywhere. At first, he stuck to his original characters pig, cow and zebra, but now he loves on all of them equally. He loves rhino, beaver, waddle waddle (aka penguin) and mouse just as much as the originals. One night he was playing quietly in his room and when we walked he had all the characters line up on his crib railing, all facing the same way. He slept with them there that night and it was the sweetest thing. These are toys that we will never get rid of and keep for him one day to have a piece of his childhood and share with kids one day.
One of the storybooks :
The characters with their matching hats: pig, cow, zebra (Farm set) mouse, duck, tiger (Breaking News Pack), rhino and beaver (Train set), dog, eagle, dog (Heroes are Everywhere pack), penguin, owl, chicken (Great Pancake Caper pack)

Monkeying Around
Dylan is all boy. I don't care how many times he has been mistaken for a girl in the past because of his full head of hair, but he is all boy. I cannot keep this boy from climbing. A few weeks ago I found him standing on the dryer. Let me explain....we have a step stool in front of our utility sink in the laundry room as it makes it easier to wash his hands. Well, he likes to play in there a lot and it got quiet, you know too quiet. I looked in, he had climbed up the stool, over to the laundry table, then to the dryer and had the cabinets open looking in them.
Then he's been climbing up and swinging from his shelf in his closet. The latest, climbing his shelves as high as he can.

When I would tell him that he couldn't or make him come down, he would get so mad...screaming and crying.
He went so far as to push me out of his closet and say out mommy. He pushed me all the way out of his room one time. Then ran back into his closet to try and climb it again. Until, I said no sir....whaaaa!!!!! Cue the crying.
What am I going to do with this boy. He has no fear.

Play Time
A few weeks ago, I took Dylan to Gymboree for a free class. I would love to be able to sign up for classes, but it's kind of costly and kind of out of the way. I wish we had something in our city that was a little more convenient, but I figure one day, to beat the winter blues, was worth it. Dylan had a blast. We were with a play group where Dylan was pushing the next class age limitations, so all the kids in the class weren't as mobile or into everything like he is. The teacher called everyone together in the beginning and did a few songs then tried her best to structure and organize the play time in the various sections of the play area. I tried my best to corral Dylan but he's like a wild animal, he can't be caged. After about 10 minutes of free play, the teacher called them back to do a song on a bouncy tunnel. Dylan was having none of it and he ran to play on his own. It wasn't until she brought out the parachute that he was willing to play with the class. Then came the bubbles, he was loving running under the parachute and acting crazy so much so that he had a head on collision with another little boy. Since he was older, this meant he was taller, so the boys head came to Dylan's eye. Dylan got a little goose egg. After a few minutes of crying, he was ready to go again. He really had a lot of fun.

Long Time Gone
I know that I haven't blogged in some time and I really don't have a good excuse other than I have been picking up more work at school thus leaving less time to do stuff around the house, also I just feel like things haven't been as eventful to blog about things. I will definitely try and make a better effort in blogging as this will one day be our family scrapbook once I get it printed in book format. I could make an effort to do in once a week. Dylan it's not that Momma doesn't love you, I'd rather spend time with you than blog :)
